Why Tuff Toe?
Tuff Toe will extend the life of your boot by 3 Times! In tough work environments, boot toes are usually the first thing to wear out. With Tuff Toe, you will never tear out the front of your expensive work boots. Our ballistic-grade polyurethane adhesive is the same material used by NASA. It is waterproof and will resist punctures, chemicals, and stains. It can be used on any shoe material and nearly any surface that is exposed to rough wear, from boots to saddles to tools.

How To Apply TUFF TOE Work Boot Toe Protection & Repair
Applying TUFF TOE is simple if you follow our instructions completely. Make Sure to watch our full demo and instruction videos on How To Apply Tuff Toe here.
Application Process:
STEP 1: TAPE – Use masking or painters tape to define the area of coverage. Tuff Toe will generally come from the toe tip to 1-2 cm from where the steel toe ends. We don’t recommend applying Tuff Toe to any flex areas. You can tape along the sole edge if you’d like a cleaner line, but this is not required.
STEP 2: PREP – Use the sandpaper provided to scuff the coverage surface. Proper surface preparation is critical to adhesion. Make sure the entire surface has been sanded to ensure optimal conditions.
STEP 3: EQUALIZE CARTRIDGE & TIP – Tuff Toe is a two-part application that needs to mix simultaneously at the time of application. If the parts are not equal, the application will fail. To ensure equalization, push material out of both cartridges until they are both extracting equally into the mixing nozzle.
STEP 4: APPLY TUFF TOE – Hold the boot with your left hand (if you’re right-handed) and begin on the left side. Apply slowly from the sole to top. If you apply too quickly, the material will come out runny and take-off on you. Applying slowly allows the material to begin setting so that it is thicker and easier to manage. If the material begins to run on you, turn the boot so that the material runs back into itself.
STEP 5: REMOVE TAPE – Immediately remove the tape. Pull carefully so that you don’t mess up your application.
STEP 6: ROTATE – The material is still setting up, and if you put the boot down, the material will run to the sole. You want the material to be focused on the toe tip, so rotate the boot for 1-2 mins with the toe tip pointed down.
STEP 7: CURE FOR 24 HOURS – A full 24 hours is recommended for a full cure; however, you will see that within 90 mins, the material will be 80% cured. If you have to use your boots before the 24 hrs, we recommend putting them in a warm area to help speed up the process (a hot car or in front of a heater works great).
IMPORTANT TIPS – Use Comet or a de-glazing chemical to prep oily boots. If painters or masking tape doesn’t stick to your boots, not much will, Tuff Toe will dry with a glossy finish. If you prefer a matte finish, wait for 30-35 minutes until only slightly tacky (not sticky). Rub your finger across the Tuff Toe, and the sheen will disappear and create a matte finish.
Tuff Gun Applicator is available to make your life easier.
We offer a very useful applicator gun, which makes it easier to meter the material as it comes out.
