Stephanie has a neurological condition that forces her to drag her left foot.
Jim and his daughter Stephanie use the best shoes they can for foot drop and want to protect them. Due to an accident, Stephanie has a neurological condition that forces her to drag her left foot. Even with the best footwear, this dragging causes her to quickly wear through the toe area of her tennis shoes and boots in as little as a month. The Wisconsin cold does not help either!
Tuff Toe allows her to keep wearing her favorite footwear. Per her father,
“It lasts the life of of the boot. Not only does it save my daughter money. Some of these shoes are Christmas presents from loved ones. She is able to make her favorite pair of Nike shoes given to her by her older sister last much longer.”
Stephanie is very active. She lives on her own with a pit bull, takes care of her home, mows the lawn and volunteers to help train dogs. She spends a lot of time on her feet. In Tuff Toe, Jim found something that stands up to any situation for his daughter.
“Tuff Toe stands up to everyday use with awesome durability. She is mowing the lawn with moisture in the grass. She is walking on pavement. She is out in the snow as well. Tuff Toe is impervious to it all.”
They Tuff Toe their footwear to both prevent wear and repair them as well. As soon as Stephanie gets a new pair of shoes that work best for her foot drop, Jim sees where they begin to wear and applies Tuff Toe in that area. Interestingly, instead of using our mixing tube, he mixes the epoxy with a craft stick. He likes the control and creativity this approach allows. He makes certain patterns that match the shoe design so you don’t notice the coating. Black is on black and white on white to blend in.
Tuff Toe acts as a coating that is tougher than most shoe leather, fabric, or rubber and can be reapplied as needed. By Tuff Toe’ing his daughter’s footwear, Jim is significantly extending the usable life of her shoes.
